This page explains, in plain words, which personal data MyComuApp processes, why, and what your rights are. It is governed by Chilean Law 21,719 on personal data protection. The full legal text (in Spanish) is available in our policy and terms.
Who processes your data
Controller of the website and the service: MyComuApp · Valparaíso, Chile.
Your community (or its management) subscribes to MyComuApp and decides which information is loaded. MyComuApp processes that data on behalf of the community and only to make the app work. You can write to us at contacto@mycomuapp.com.
What data is processed
- Contact details: name, email address and phone number.
- Identifiers: your user ID and your device ID, to keep your session and send you notifications.
- Content you post: photos, posts, comments, messages, bookings and issues.
- Approximate location: only if you allow it, and only to sort nearby public cameras by distance.
- Audio and video: during video calls and voice search. Video calls are not recorded.
What it is used for
Only to run your community: posting and receiving news and notices, booking spaces, notifying you about parcels and visitors, chatting and managing the building. MyComuApp shows no ads, does not sell your data and does not share it with third parties for advertising, and it does not track you across apps.
Legal basis
We process your data because it is necessary to provide the service your community subscribed to (performance of a contract), to comply with legal obligations (for example, keeping meeting minutes or responding to an authority) and, where applicable, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time: for example, location or notifications.
Who sees your information
Each person sees only what their role allows. In the neighbor directory your profile is trimmed: sensitive data never shows up there.
How it is protected
- All communication is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS, and video calls with DTLS-SRTP.
- Permissions are defined by role and access is logged.
- The access log is kept for 12 months and then deleted.
Who we share it with
Only with providers we need for the app to work, who process data on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations:
- Hosting for the website, the database and files.
- Google Firebase, to deliver notifications to your phone.
- LiveKit, to stream video calls (live; they are not recorded).
- Google Analytics, to measure visits to this website, only with your consent.
- Google Play and the Apple App Store, which distribute the app under their own policies.
Some of these providers operate outside Chile. In that case, the transfer is made with the safeguards required by Law 21,719. We never give your data to third parties for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Account data: while the account is active; when deleted, it is erased, except what the law requires us to keep.
- Access log: 12 months.
- Messages from this website’s contact form: up to 24 months, to follow up on your enquiry.
This website’s contact form
If you write to us from the website, we use your name, email, phone (if provided) and message only to answer you. We send an acknowledgement to your email. We do not use them to send you advertising.
Cookies
The mycomuapp.com website uses Google Analytics to measure visits, only if you accept in the cookie notice; it uses no advertising. Details, and how to change your choice, are in the cookie policy.
Minors
Accounts for children and teenagers are created by the community’s management. For children under 14, the authorization of their mother, father or guardian is required, as the law demands. If you believe we hold data about a minor without that authorization, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can request access, rectification, deletion, objection and portability of your data from the app itself, in Settings › My data. Every request is recorded with its date and a deadline of 30 calendar days to be answered.
Want to delete your account? See how to request the deletion of your account and data.
If you are not satisfied
If you believe we have not respected your rights, you can file a complaint with Chile’s Personal Data Protection Agency, once it is in operation, or with the data protection authority of your country.
If you visit us from outside Chile
If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with a similar law, you also have the rights that law grants you (such as the GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. If you live in California, we inform you that we do not sell or share your personal information, as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any of these rights, write to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will announce it in the app and on this page, with its update date.
